#Oxygen not included lime generator#
The generator consumes 90 g/s Natural Gas, and generates 800 W Power, 67.5 g/s Polluted Water, and 22.5 g/s Carbon Dioxide. Natural gas is burned in the Natural Gas Generator.Natural Gas is an unbreathable, relatively heavy gas, which sinks below Oxygen but rises above Chlorine and Carbon Dioxide. In our experience we have not found another topical therapy to be as fast and effective as lime sulfur in the treatment of cats with ringworm. This article has not been revised for the current version ( U36-481350). While Pure Oxygen may be effective as a topical therapy, the parameters for treatment (concentration, application method, contact time, etc.) are not currently known.
The desire to limit or skip treatment steps is understandable but will result in the cat taking a longer time to cure and is therefore not recommended. We recommend applying lime sulfur to the entire cat twice a week in order to reduce the chance of the lesions on the face shedding spores to the rest of the body, the handler and the environment. Use of a topical miconazole cream (≥1%) can be beneficial for lesions close to the eyes. A clean cloth soaked in lime sulfur can be used to carefully wet the face. Regarding your current patient, the face is often last to cure given the reluctance to apply the lime sulfur thoroughly to this area. Your observations are correct in that cultures from cats under treatment with lime sulfur take longer to grow - this tells us our treatment is working! However, cats with ringworm can begin to shed infective spores 3-4 days after application, so applying only once a week is not recommended. Given that Pure Oxygen shampoo has no residual activity, it does not provide one of the cornerstones of ringworm therapy - environmental decontamination. This timeline is the basis for the “tried and true” treatment approach of twice weekly lime sulfur application in combination with an oral antifungal such as itraconazole or terbinafine. The residual activity of lime sulfur is known to be 3-4 days. This is important information to consider when choosing a topical treatment and leads nicely into your second question. Also, AHP does not have residual activity against ringworm spores. While Pure Oxygen shampoo has been shown to have effective antifungal activity in vitro, there is no published information on its effectiveness on actual cats with ringworm. Lime sulfur certainly has a reputation- smelly? Yes! Amazingly effective? Absolutely! We are extremely fortunate to have a topical treatment that works so well! There is no new information supporting the use of Pure Oxygen shampoo (accelerated hydrogen peroxide or AHP) as a topical therapy for ringworm (dermatophytosis). Thank you for reaching out with your question. Thanks so much for your thoughts! Answer: Is there any data to show that the sporicidal effect of lime sulfur does not last for 7 days once the fungus has been knocked back by several dips and oral meds? We have observed that it takes much longer to grow in vitro, i.e., culture plate (let alone sporulate) during treatment so it would seem to follow that once you get past the first few dips that the fungus is not as viable and weekly dipping might be as effective. We have already done two lime sulfur dips and she is on Itrafungol orally. The only areas that are infected are two small areas on her face (confirmed by Woods Lamp and fungal culture - meaning no glowing areas and fungal culture negative when only body is brushed and facial areas are not included). The other thing we are considering is dipping once a week and just wiping her face with lime sulfur once a week (or skipping the second weekly treatment).
I know that Virox is in the process of conducting a study but based on the efficacy of the Rescue products for cleaning I am considering switching to Pure Oxygen for our current kitten being treated for ringworm and wanted to get your thoughts. I see that this link was from 2016 and so hoping you might have some more updated info? I am writing to inquire if you have any updated information as to the efficacy of using Pure Oxygen to treat ringworm.
